Mae Dyfed yn byw ym mhentref Brynsiencyn, Ynys Môn.

Cafodd ei fagu ym mhentref Penysarn, ger Amlwch, ar aelwyd lle roedd mynychu'r capel yn bwysig. Yn blentyn, datblygodd sgiliau cyhoeddus trwy'r ysgol Sul ac eisteddfodau lleol.

Yn ei ugeiniau cynnar, teimlodd Dyfed yr alwad i fod yn weinidog llawn amser ac wedi cwblhau ei hyfforddiant ym Mhrifysgol Bangor a Choleg y Bedyddwyr, ordeinwyd ef mewn dwy eglwys Fedyddiedig yng Nghaergybi. Treuliodd gyfnodau yng Nghwm Tawe a Bae Colwyn yn ogystal.

Yn ystod cyfnod i ffwrdd o'r weinidofaeth - yn gwella wedi argyfwng iechyd meddwl - cwblhaodd Dyfed waith academaidd ychwanegol ym Mangor ac ennill ei ddoethuriaeth yn hanes yr eglwys. Bu'n gweithio gyda'r elusen cymorth rhyngwladol Cymorth Cristnogol hefyd, a hynny fel eu swyddog cyfryngau. Gwnaeth sawl cyfweliad ar y radio a'r teledu yn y swydd hon.

Trwy gydol y cyfnod hwn parhaodd Dyfed i weinyddu angladdau yn gyson. Ers yr hydref 2022, fodd bynnag, bu'n arwain gwasanaethau yn llawn amser.

I ymlacio mae Dyfed yn mwynhau ffotograffiaeth, teithiau cerdded hir gyda Sidan y ci ar lannau moroedd Môn neu fryniau Eryri a myfyrdod meddwlgarwch. Weithiau mae'n gwneud y tri gyda'i gilydd!

Dyfed lives in the village of Brynsiencyn, Ynys Môn.

He was raised in the village of Penysarn, near Amlwch, and was brought up in a church-going home. As a child, Dyfed developed his public speaking skills through the Sunday school and local eisteddfodau.

In his early twenties, Dyfed felt the call to become a full time Baptist minister and after completing his training at Bangor University and the Baptist College, he was ordained with two chapels in Holyhead. He also spent periods ministering in the Swansea valley and Colwyn Bay.

During his time away from ministry - recuperating from a mental health crisis - Dyfed completed further academic study at Bangor where he gained his PhD in church history. He has also worked for the international aid charity, Christian Aid, as their media officer and has made many radio and TV appearances in this role.

Throughout this period Dyfed continued to conduct funeral services on a regular basis. Since the autumn of 2022, however, he has been conducting services full time.

To relax, Dyfed enjoys photography, long dog walks on Anglesey beaches or the Eryri hills and mindfulness meditation. Sometimes, he does all three at the same time!
